1. How was the process of creating the GMail account and setting up the Blog?
It was fairly easy. Thr rules were self explanatory and easy to understand. 

2. What do you expect to learn in this course?

  • How to apply analytic/interpretive/reflective processes to contemporary and historical visual culture.
  • Develop familiarity with visual art venues, how they function, and the roles they play in community.
  • Investigate art-related technologies & visual arts through research using traditional and/or electronic resources. 


3. How do you feel about taking an online course?
I feel pretty confident about taking this course espcially with the help of the course calendar in blackboard, it will be easy for me to keep up with upcoming due dates.

4. What three things in the Growth Mindset (from Step 3) videos do you believe most apply to you?
Being involved on campus helps with making friends.  Before I got involved on campus I was mostly alone and way more homesick. Making friends helped me break out my shell, over come homesickness, and made me feel more comfortable on campus.

Video #1 When looking at marble statues it never came to mind the amount of thus artist have to take into consideration before creating the piece. For example,  how fragile the marble might be, h ow resistant is it to changing whether climates (is it going to be indoor or outdoor?), or how far will the marble extend so that their vision is able to come to life. The artist starts forming the piece with clay to get a visual start of what they visualized. Once they've made any finishing touches plaster is applied to help preserve the piece. This was an educational film and I learned a lot about the hardwork that sculpting requires. I found the video to be inspirational and I now have a greater appreciation for the art of sculpting, and the individulas who decide to persure this craft.  Video #2 Who knew glass was made from sand? Mask making

Me I chose my mas costumes( carnival costumes) as inspiration because they are filled with so much color and detail I thought it would be fun to make a mask inspired by their colors. I'm from the Caribbean so it's common for us to get dressed up like this and basically have one big party outside with loud music food and people. I took colors from each of the costumes, even from my step sister's costume(the purple one) to color in the mask. We don't usually wear masks with our costumes but usually really extravagant or small and detailed head pieces; so i thought why not switch it up. I used shape,color, texture, and line to create my mask. My frien had a mask alreay made with what seemed like a smooth plastic texture which is why the mask looks glossy. I also used rhinestones, glitter, and a gold sharpie to color it in. I free handed my design and I'm pretty happy with how it came out.
