There are several reasons why colors are able to influence how we feel. We react on various levels of based on the colors we come across.Warm colors are usually associated with energy, brightness, and action, whereas cool colors are often identified with peace, and serenity. Red for example, represents fire, and powerful emotions such as fear, anger and passion. While blue on the other hand may represent a sense of calmness or peace. From grass to leaves to other vegetation, the color green can be identified with the environment, which can put you in a relaxed or refreshed mood. Yellow is proven to be linked to sunshine, which conveys a joyous, happy mood.
2. What is a theoretical aspect of color that most intrigues/fascinates you? Why?
Humans see colors in light waves. You can mix red, green and blue light sources of various intensities. The more light you add, the brighter the color mix becomes. If you mix all three colors of light, you get pure, white light. Color is perception. Our eyes see something (the sky, for example), and data sent from our eyes to our brains tells us it’s a certain color (blue). Objects reflect light in different combinations of wavelengths. Our brains pick up on those wavelength combinations and translate them into what we call color.

While looking at June Redfern's painting she stated that the painting looked very violent and I would have to agree. The colors used clashed with one another, creating a disoriented feeling to me much like VanGoh's painting of the cafe to express his distaste for it.
